GRIDDED AMPLIFIER TUBES FOR PULSED C-BAND FREQUENCIES.

Abstract

Efforts were continued on a development program leading to the design of a gridded amplifier tube to be incorporated into a wideband amplifier circuit at C-band. Additional EE-53-1 mounts were fabricated and processed. Development of an improved grid assembly has progressed, and the first supported grids have been incorporated in tubes. Additional low level testing of the amplifier circuitry shows an 11 db gain over a 300 MHz passband in spite of the low cathode current density. More cathode emission will result in a substantial improvement in gain-bandwidth.
