SURVEILLANCE TECHNOLOGY STUDY AND ANALYSIS. VOLUME V. POLARIZATION MONITOR DISPLAY INVESTIGATION.

Abstract

This report presents results of studies, investigations, and technique developments which will be useful in future HF long range radar applications. This report is in five volumes. Volume 1 - covers the development of a multifilar helical contrawound antenna which may be suitable as the wideband radiating element for large HF array antennas. Volume 2 - evaluates the performance of an adaptive array operating in multipath environment. Comparisons between the cancellation performance of the array operating against coherent and incoherent interference is made. Volume 3 - investigates the errors in the reconstruction of digitally recorded signals that are time truncated and band limited. Volume 4- is intended to aid the radar engineer in design and evaluation of HF radar systems. Major emphasis is on signal processing techniques and their effect on detection probability. Volume 5 - covers the development of a polarization monitor display for HF radar application.
