DEVELOPMENT OF A STRAIN MEASURING STANDARD FOR TEMPERATURES UP TO 1370 C (2500 F).
Abstract
A pneumatic extensometer designed for measuring static strains at temperatures up to 1370 C is described. Results of evaluation tests at temperatures up to 1100 C (2000 F) are given. Fracture of the extensometer body prevented testing at higher temperatures. Further development of this type of device is not recommended at this time. (Author)
