ELECTRONICALLY TUNABLE ZNY FILTERS.

Abstract

The report details the work done to date on ZnY filters in the 26-40 GHz band. An equivalent circuit for planar ferrite resonators was derived, materials were fabricated and tested, and coupling geometries were considered. A particular geometry, using a magic T, was found to offer several advantages over the standard orthogonal configurations. A theoretical study of the use of dielectrics to increase coupling revealed a fundamental limitation of this approach. Materials work consisted of the fabrication and linewidth measurement of MnZnY spheres. (Author)
