EFFECTIVE REFLECTIVITY AND ANGULAR DISTRIBUTION OF LIGHT REFLECTED FROM SEA WATER WITH SURFACE WAVES,

Abstract

In considering the feasibility of an electrooptical aircraft altimeter based on an optical radar principle, the effective reflectivity of sea water with surface waves becomes an important parameter. This report presents calculations based on a simple model and give experimental results that seem to verify the theoretical calculations. (Author)
