THE SYNTHESIS OF FERRITE MONOCRYSTALS WITH THE AID OF CHEMICAL TRANSPORT REACTIONS AND THEIR STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES (DIE SYNTHESE VON FERRIT-EINKRISTALLEN MIT HILFE VON CHEMISCHEN TRANSPORTREAKTIONEN UND IHRE STRUKTUREIGENSCHAFTEN).

Abstract

Single crystals of nickel-, cobalt-, magnesium-, and zinc-ferrites were prepared from the gas phase in the 700 to 1000 C temperature range by employing chemical transport reactions. Chlorine and hydrogen chloride served as the transport gases. The ferrite crystals were octahedral and were 0.1 and 0.5 mm. in size. The structural characteristics of the products were investigated.
