MODELS FOR ESTIMATING WAVE REFRACTION.

Abstract

One of the problems associated with wave refraction is estimating breaker height is the time-consuming, costly, and laborious task of constructing wave refraction diagrams. Through the use of three simplifed wave refraction models, along with historical offshore wave data, preliminary estimates of breaker height conditions may be derived from remote coastlines where visual observations are sparse. The method is adaptable for computer use. (Author)
