FATIQUE STRENGTH DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF AIRCRAFT STRUCTURES. PART II. FATIGUE LIFE ANALYSIS COMPUTER PROGRAM--USER'S MANUAL.

Abstract

The computer program for the calculation of structural fatigue damage is completely defined in the form of a user's manual. The program, although primarily directed for the fatigue analysis of aircraft structures, is applicable to any general fatigue damage calculation using the linear (Palmgren-Miner) damage rule. Input data basically consists of the loads spectrum and fatigue strength allowables - S-N data. The program is especially conducive to mission-flight profile analysis and includes gust loads spectrum equation of MIL-A-8866, calculation of rigid airplane c.g. vertical load factor response due to continuous turbulence, and the automatic definition and damage calculation of the Ground-Air-Ground cycles from the mission profile spectrum.
