HIGH PERFORMANCE FUEL CELL.
Abstract
During the first year of this contract, a system conterline design was established; and research and development performed on the fuel cell stack. The fluorochemical FC-75 was selected as the optimum liquid coolant. An initial fuel cell stack design was completed and two small stacks fabricated for life tests. Design studies, fabrication process development, and cell performance studies were performed to evolve stack designs which are lighter in weight and incorporate other improvements relative to the initial design. Fuel cell stack test stations and deliverable test equipment were also designed and fabricated. (Author)
