CALIBRATION PRINCIPLES AND PROCEDURES FOR FIELD INTENSITY METERS (10 KHZ TO 1 GHZ).

Abstract

Methods for calibrating field intensity meters (FIM) over the frequency range 10 kHz to 1 GHz are described. The calibrations include determination of the antenna factor as well as calibration of the FIM receiver as a two terminal RF voltmeter. The standard field and standard antenna methods are employed in the calibration of loop and dipole antennas. An RF micropotentiometer is used as a precise RF voltage standard. Detailed procedures for the calibration of the model NF 105 FIM are included. (Author)
