INVESTIGATION OF CATALYTIC REACTIONS FOR CO2 REDUCTION. PART V. PROGRAM CONCLUSIONS.
Abstract
The experimental investigation conducted as Phases I through V of this in-house effort over the period July 1963 to November 1966, demonstrated conclusively that 0.5% ruthenium-on-alumina, 1/8 in. cylindrical pellet size, in a catalytic reactor configuration length-to-diameter ratio of 18, was the most effective catalyst-reactor configuration combination of those investigated for reducing carbon dioxide to methane and water at the minimum temperature of 450 F. This catalyst and reactor design was selected from an analytical and experimental comparison of over 50 catalyst-reactor combinations. (Author)
