EXPERIMENTS ON STORAGE OF MULTIPLE IMAGES IN COLORED CRYSTALS.

Abstract

An experimental investigation on holographic storage of multiple images in colored crystals were made and effects of various parameters on image quality were studied. Data are presented on crystal sensitivity, Bragg-angle discrimination, image resolution and the number of images recorded in a single crystal. Effects of crystal optical density, spatial filtering, crystal site and the beam uniformity on image quality are cited. The crystal storage capacity and limitations in currently available crystals are reported. (Author)
