JOINT SUMMER MEETING OF THE ROYAL INSTITUTION OF NAVAL ARCHITECTS, LONDON, AND THE ROYAL INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERS, HOLLAND, 23-26 MAY, 1967.

Abstract

This joint conference of the British Royal Institution of Naval Architects and the Dutch Royal Institute of Engineers was held in the Hague. The papers presented dealt with the motions and power increases of ship models in waves and the extension of such experimental data to the prediction of these quantities for the full-sized ship, the problems of stopping the modern mammoth tankers now building, the minimizing of steel weights in ship hulls by operations research studies and a study of the efficiency of ship propellers.
