SOME CALCULATIONS OF THE SPECIFIC HEAT AND PRANDTL NUMBER OF GASEOUS HYDROGEN.

Abstract

This report represents the completion of the work performed on the transport properties of hydrogen. It was originally intended to tabulate published values of the specific heat of hydrogen and then use these with the data of a reference to obtain Prandtl numbers for hydrogen. When it was found that large differences existed in the Prandtl numbers reported in various works, it was decided to compute the specific heats, viscosity and thermal conductivity in order to obtain the Prandtl number from a consistent set of calculations. These calculations could then serve to indicate from which works the Prandtl numbers should be obtained for tabulation.
