FERRITE-CORE MEMORY WITH SEMICONDUCTOR CONTROL CIRCUITS (FERRITOVOYE ZAPOMINAYUSHCHEYE USTROYSTVO S POLUPROVODNIKOVYMI SKHEMAMI UPRAVLENIYA).

Abstract

This report describes a ferrite-core memory which uses transistors and semiconductor diodes, and has a capacity of 5000 numbers, each of which contains 30 binary digits. The memory immediate-access cycle time is 13 microsec and the retrieval time is 4 microsec. The main memory element consists of ferrite cores with a rectangular hysteresis loop. The address retrieval system is realized in an economical way by means of transistorized address in a code of 1/10. The memories were tested with the actual conditions that occur during machine operation on the whole taken into account. A special test device was constructed for this purpose: a computer simulator. A special device also was designed to adjust the semiconductor circuits and to test the memory matrices. (Author)
