COMPATIBILITY OF ELASTOMERS WITH HYDRAULIC FLUIDS, LUBRICANTS AND FUELS.
Abstract
The effect of hydraulic fluids, lubricants and fuels on vulcanizates based on twelve elastomers was determined. Specimens were immersed in the various media for 70 hours at 212 F. or room temperature prior to testing. The effect of filler level on the resistance of three elastomers to fluids, lubricants and fuels was determined. Tabular results of the data and a fluid-elastomer selection guide are presented.
