Food Habits Survey, Volume 1. Part 1

Abstract

The initial phase of this project was spent in attempting to: (1) define the scope and range of the study (2) design an operating system tofacilitate the gathering of data (3) refine existing methodology and devise new methods to cope with special problems of this study, and (4) start the actual collecting and organizing of data as rapidly as possible, since the contract called for a one-year project. The original contract was subsequently extended for an additional year, and the work load of societies to be included was raised from approximately 190 to 380. The actual number of societies covered is 383.
