Abstract
The Food Habits Tables present specific information on individual items in the diet which are of significance in the total cultural context. An effort has been made to identify precisely each food by source (plant, animal, or other), foodstuff, and prepared dish to indicate each category of information as exactly as the sources permit. In many cases the information has been absent, insufficient, or doubtful. In these cases every effort has been made to secure confirming data.
