L-BAND TETRODES.

Abstract

Investigations have continued on three different approaches for the fabrication of grid structures suitable for use in the L-67 tetrode. Two of the designs involve the use of boron nitride isnulators that are bonded to the grids. These approaches require a boron nitride having a gas content lower than has been obtained from samples tested up to this time. The third design utilizes high conductivity grid support structures that can be attached to an external heat sink arrangement. Tests on the latter structures in recent tubes show them to have grid dissipation capabilities considered adequate for attainment of the performance goals of the present contract. (Author)
