Abstract

The report describes research activities in the general area of mechanics at the University of Manchester, in both the Faculty of Science and the autonomous Faculty of Technology, i.e., the Institute of Science and Technology. The Departments noted in the report include Applied Mathematics, Civil and Mechanical Engineering (of both Faculties), and the Department of the Mechanics of Fluids (Faculty of Science). (Author)
