ACOUSTIC TELESCOPE.

Abstract

Acoustic telescopes were evaluated in Vietnam to determine if they were effective in improving the capability of the unaided ear to detect and recognize audio signals. The telescopes offered very little improvement over the capability of the unaided human ear. Also, they could not withstand the rugged environmental conditions in the Republic of Vietnam. It was recommended that acoustic telescopes not be procured for use in Vietnam. (Author)
