DEFORMATIONS AND STABILITY OF SPHERICAL SHELLS UNDER ACTION OF CONCENTRATED LOADS AND UNIFORM PRESSURE.

Abstract

Deformations and collapses of a series of spherical shells with a wide range of geometrical parameters and edge supports subjected to the action of concentrated loads, uniform loads, and combination of uniform and concentrated loads have been investigated. The pre-buckling and post-buckling histories of the deflections, stress distributions, and critical curves (showing the relationship between critical loadings and geometry parameter) have been determined.
