OPEN CYCLE MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC GENERATOR RESEARCH.

Abstract

Experimental results of the conducting side wall Hall generator, including a theoretical study of the influence of finite electrode size on the generator characteristic, are presented. Besides the standard type of measurements (static pressure at 40 different positions, 22 thermocouples at critical points of the generator, 60 top to bottom electrode current and 60 voltages between generator segments) in this series of tests, most of the experimental effort was directed toward more sophisticated instrumentation.
