Abstract

Tests are reported to determine the compliance with Coast Guard Specifications of a sample lot of pistol-projected parachute red flare distress signals, manufactured under Coast Guard Approval No. 160.024/5/0 by the Signal Pyrotechnic Company, Los Angeles, California. The sample lot of distress signals met the requirements of Coast Guard Specification 160.024 in operational tests but failed to meet all the requirements of technical tests. (Author)
