SINGLE SIDEBAND QUARTZ CRYSTAL UNITS FOR VHF APPLICATIONS (METAL ENCLOSURES).

Abstract

The feasibility of developing a 5 MHz fundamental resonator unit in a metal enclosure with improved reliability and frequency-time stability was investigated and proved to be successful. This was accomplished by the utilization of special bonding materials and processing techniques. Data is presented which includes, coldweld enclosures, bonding techniques, bakeout and sealing facilities, resonator design, and resulting frequency-time stabilities for units fabricated using the listed elements.
