ORGANIC FLUID PRODUCTS REMOVAL.

Abstract

This report describes the first quarter's progress on a program to develop techniques for the removal of decomposition products from the working fluid (biphenyl/biphenyl ether eutectic) of a Rankine-cycle space power system. Estimates of thermal decomposition rates of the working fluid are presented. Devices to trap noncondensable gaseous decomposition products and sludge are described together with the test rigs that are being prepared to provide experimental verification of the device design concepts.
