PREPARATION OF TEST PROCEDURES.

Abstract

A study program dealing with the development of procedures for administering tests is conducted to evaluate specified image display and reference display equipments used in the performance of selected image interpretation functions. Within recognized constraints of time, number of test subjects, and equipment availability, a series of five tests were conceived, constructed, and administered to nine experienced image interpreters from the Air Force, Army and Marine Corps. The equipments used in this experiment comprised light tables (Richards Model 940 MCE) and rear projection viewer (Houston-Fearless MKII Variscan) for film display, film chip viewer (Bausch and Lomb TTR Viewer developed for MSSV) and hard copy material for reference display, and a closed circuit television system (Fairchild High Resolution CCTV) for both film and reference (Chip) display. The results showed that for all tasks CCTV was required to perform, this CCTV was generally slowest and least accurate as compared to the other equipment for the same tasks. (Author)
