DETECTION AND DETERMINATION OF LIGANDS BY ANALYTICAL KINETIC METHODS.

Abstract

The exploration of the application of metal-catalyzed or inhibited redox agents to the determination of trace level quantities of chemical agents was extended to include (1) further investigation of the effect of nitrogen and oxygen-containing ligands on the Cu(II)-catalyzed aerobic oxidation of 1-ascorbic acid, (2) preliminary work to evaluate the potentiality of calorimetric methods as means of determination of traces of complexing agents, and (3) development of a new approach based on a titration technique which has been applied to the determination of cyanide at low concentrations. Further work along these lines is under way to develop new analytical methods for the determination of various nitrogen-, oxygen-, sulfur-containing ligands.
