REAL TIME DIGITAL PHASE SHIFTERS UTILIZING 4-PORT SINGLE-JUNCTION LATCHING CIRCULATORS.

Abstract

The devices under development were real time delay digital phase shifters utilizing 4-port single-junction waveguide latching circulators. The operation and tuning models for the single-junction circulator are reviewed and the relation between ferrimagnetic material parameters and the desired performance characteristics discussed. The final steps of circulator development, including VSWR matching, material selection, and work on switching wire coupling problems, are described. Measurement techniques are reviewed and the final performance and construction of the phase shifters, including electronic drivers, and time delay stubs, are discussed. (Author)
