SPECTRORADIOMETERS EMPLOYING CIRCULAR VARIABLE INTERFERENCE FILTERS.

Abstract

Spectroradiometers that employ circular variable interference filters have been developed at the Naval Weapons Center. This report discusses the circular variable filters, optical systems, detectors, electronics and recorders of each spectroradiometer. The instruments discussed in this report cover a wavelength range of 1.6 to 6.2 microns and 7.5 to 14.5 microns. Spectral data from the flame of a Bunsen burner obtained with the spectroradiometers are compared with comparable deflection data taken from a Perkin-Elmer spectrophotometer. (Author)
