NOTES ON MECHANICS IN ITALY.
Abstract
This report is a guide to mechanics in Italy, but is not a complete survey of work in the entire field in Italy. It reviews in depth visits to the Politecnico of Milan and the Politecnico of Turin and those departments of the Univs. of Pisa, Rome and Naples which are included in the Faculties of Engineering. It was not possible to include the School of Engineering of the Univs. of Genoa and Bologna nor the School of Architecture in Venice. A list of 31 references are cited at the end, and an Appendix lists by author and institution further publications of mechanicians in Milan, Turin, Pisa, Rome and Naples. Titles are given in the original Italian with English translation following. Summaries are in English. (Author)
