CHARACTERISTIC CURVE FOR THE ILFORD Q-2PLATE ON A DOUBLE FOCUSING SPARK SOURCE MASS SPECTROGRAPH.
Abstract
The characteristic curve for mass spectra has been investigated. The curve was affected by the optical system of a microphotometer. A long linear density region of the curve was obtained from the narrow effective width of the illuminated area. On the intensity scale, use of the isotopic abundance ratio was more advantageous than the monitor current. A smooth curve was obtained using the two-step method. The values of gamma and the linear density region of the Ilford Q-2 plate for platinum mass spectra were 0.8 - 0.9 and 0.4 - 1.0, respectively. The characteristic curve for mass spectra was found to be similar to that for light spectra in the 1500 A region. (Author)
