LASER OUTPUT COUPLER.

Abstract

This report describes an experimental technique for optical detection of small mechanical displacements at high frequencies by use of a short Fabry-Perot resonator (length typically 0.5mm) with one moving mirror, illuminated by a laser. Preliminary results allowed detection of approximately 1A movement at 5 Mc/s and theory limits the detection of approximately 0.01A. Uses foreseen are concerned with laser modulation and determination of crystal acoustic spectra. (Author)
