A TOWED HYDROPHONE ARRAY.

Abstract

A towed hydrophone array was developed in response to a requirement for a line of horizontal receivers with which to study the variation of spatial coherence of the fluctuations in sound propagation caused by inhomogeneties in the medium and by reflection from the boundaries. The array also had an application in experiments to examine the spatial variation of the target echo-structure in target detection and classification studies. (Author)
