GRIDDED AMPLIFIER TUBES FOR PULSED C-BAND FREQUENCIES.

Abstract

Additional EE-53-1 tubes were fabricated and processed. Considerable difficulty with the failure of a vacuum seal at the heater pin resulted in the redesign of that seal. Slight modification of the final envelope seal should result in improved RF operation and a more consistant cathode emission. The input and output cavity circuitry was redesigned and evaluated, and the test procedure used for evaluating interresonator iris effectiveness is discussed. The input and output circuits were individually tested as passive filters and gave bandpasses of 1300 and 1030 MHz respectively.
