L-BAND TETRODES.

Abstract

In the L-67 tetrode, the thermionic emission has been improved by coating the cathode surface with a thin layer of iridium metal. Also, the formation of conducting films on the interior surfaces of ceramic insulators during the exhaust and preliminary test has been overcome by an improved procedure for making the cathode assembly. A circuit has been developed for use with the tube that provides the desired 200 MHz bandpass at 1.3 GHz. (Author)
