TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IMAGE ISOCON TELEVISION PICKUP TUBE.

Abstract

The performance of the image orthicon and the image isocon television tubes, while operating under low light intensities, are compared with each other. Characteristics of the tubes are analysed with respect to their employment in airborne, closed circuit television schemes. Results of experiments are presented in a series of graphs. The overall dynamic range characteristics and the resolving capabilities of the tubes are emphasized. The conclusions reflect the fact that the isocon performance is superior to that of the image orthicon in low light television. (Author)
