HIGH-TEMPERATURE-RESISTANT POLYMER RESEARCH.

Abstract

During the quarter, 4-biphenyl(phenyl)phosphinic, phosphafluorinic, bis(trifluoromethyl)phosphinic, and bis(n-heptafluoropropyl)phosphinic acids and beryllium 4-bipheny(phenyl)phosphinate were prepared; and the reactions of bis(trifluoromethyl)phosphinic acid, tetrazole, and 1-perfluoromethyl tetrazole with beryllium acetylacetonate were studied. The thermal stabilities of the beryllium 4-biphenyl(phenyl), diphenoxy, phenyl p-tolyl and diethyl phosphinates and the sulfanuric ring derivatives N3S3O3Cl3, N3S3O3Cl(C6H5)2 and N3S2F(C6H5)2 were studied by DTA and TGA. Graft polymerization reactions and solvolysis studies were run on beryllium diphenylphosphinate. The film properties of several beryllium phosphinates were evaluated. (Author)
