HIGH POWER LASER AMPLIFIER CHAIN TECHNIQUES.

Abstract

This report describes work directed toward the development of a high-power optical radar transmitter. The transmitter is of the master oscillator, power amplifier (MOPA) type, using a spectrally controlled YAG:Nd oscillator and stable chain of glass:Nd amplifiers. Faraday isolator/circulators allow double-pass amplification and provide the necessary isolation to reach a net power gain of 80 db. (Author)
