FORMATION FLIGHT DISPLAYS.
Abstract
The objective of the program is to define and demonstrate an appropriate system for helicopter IFR formation flight. This report presents the results and recommendations based on the preliminary simulation phase (Task III) of the study. Three objectives were accomplished during this phase: (1) The training of subjects on the simulated control task; (2) the refinement of simulation procedures; and (3) selection of the 'optimum' variation of each of three display formats simulated.
