THE DOPPLER EFFECT IN SPACE TRAVEL (DER DOPPLER EFFECKT IN DER RAUMFAHRT).

Abstract

The significance and applications of the Doppler effect in space travel, space-to-Earth communications, space-to-space communications, and space navigation were discussed on the basis of reference in the literature. The following subjects were covered: the basic principles of the Doppler effect, relations between transmitting and receiving frequency, measurement of orbital paths and orbital velocities with the aid of the Doppler effect, disturbances caused by the ionosphere, and navigation with the aid of the Doppler effect.
