LASER PHENOMENA IN SEMICONDUCTORS. A LITERATURE REVIEW.

Abstract

This report describes the results of a literature survey on some of the fundamental principles and experimental practices involved in Raman scattering in solids and semiconductor laser materials studies. One section consists of an elementary review of the general subject of lasers with particular attention to published bibliographies and reviews. Another section treats the subject of Raman scattering with particular attention given to semiconductors and impurities in semiconductors. A third section treats, in an elementary way, semiconductor lasers and optical research on laser materials. Each section has its own bibliography with slight overlap between them. (Author)
