MINIMUM-HAMMING-DISTANCE SEQUENTIAL DECODING OF SINGLE-GENERATOR BINARY CONVOLUTIONAL CODES.

Abstract

This paper describes an efficient implementation of the fundamental ideas of sequential decoding introduced by Wozencraft. Fano et al. The codes utilized are from a class of single-generator binary, convolutional codes described by Lin and Lyne. Decoding is based on the minimum Hamming distance criterion, and is applicable to those channels for which this is a suitable criterion. (Author)
