ULTRAHIGH-SPEED PAGE PRINTER AND DISTRIBUTOR-TRANSMITTER.
Abstract
The ultrahigh-speed page printer and distributor-transmitter are being developed to replace conventional, relatively slow-speed teletypewriter equipment throughout the world in Army fixed communication centers, increasing the traffic-handling capacity of these centers to the level of that of the strategic Army communication and automatic data-processing (ADP) systems. The set will produce page copy and transmit conventional messages and data serially from punched paper tape in the American standard code for information interchange (ASCII) at speeds up to 2,400 bits per second.
