A SIMPLIFIED AUTOMATIC TRACKING TECHNIQUE FOR SIGNAL CORRELATION SYSTEMS,

Abstract

A simple system for tracking the relative time delay between two broadband signals has been proposed. This system consists of an adjustable time delay unit feeding a two-point clipper correlator. Decisions made in the correlator at each sample time are used to adjust the amount of time delay, to provide automatic tracking of the peak of the cross-correlation function between the input signals. This system is simpler than the conventional DELTIC correlator and tracker, and has some advantages for rapidly changing delays. (Author)
