MAGNETIC ANALYSIS IN METALLURGICAL RESEARCH.

Abstract

The subject of magnetic analysis in metallurgical research has been reviewed selectively in the following areas of materials technological research: (1) iron and iron base alloys; (2) nickel-iron alloys; (3) alnico permanent magnet alloys; (4) rare-earth cobalt alloys; and (5) superparamagnetic alloys. As a foundation to the technology discussed, important fundamental physical and metallurgical concepts are presented and a review of important magnetic measurement systems is also included. The areas of magnetic analysis have been evaluated in terms of new problem definition for the improved progress of magnetic materials technology. (Author)
