DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTION PROCESSES FOR AN ADAPTER SYNTHESIZER WITH TIME SCALE SELECTION.

Abstract

Quality-quantity production processes were developed for an adapter synthesizer capable of meeting or exceeding minimum specified performance requirements under airborne and ground environmental conditions. A prototype synthesizer design was reviewed and revised to incorporate a time scale selection capability. A manufacturing plan was developed based on a production capability of 30 to 50 units per month. Three prototype units were constructed, tested, and delivered to the government for complete environmental testing, which the units passed successfully. A performance specification based on the prototype design was prepared and was approved by the government. Twenty units meeting the approved specification were then fabricated, tested, and delivered. Satisfactory test results led to the conclusion that program objectives were achieved with the development and production of an adapter synthesizer meeting the specified requirements.
