ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF TACTICAL PENETRATION AIDS PENVAL PROGRAM MEMORANDUM REPORT ON HALF-OMNI ANTENNA DEVELOPMENT FOR AIRBORNE APPLICATIONS.

Abstract

This report describes the development of half-omni antenna techniques for use in ECM applications. Six half-omni antenna techniques have been either developed or investigated for various airborne applications. They range in type from waveguide to lens techniques and most are suitable for broad-band applications. Most of these antennas are suitable for both high- and medium-power applications. The various techniques described in this report offer a wide range of antenna choices to a designer of an airborne system, since each type has its own inherent advantages and, of course, disadvantages.
