INFRARED STUDIES USING THE MATRIX ISOLATION TECHNIQUE.

Abstract

A detailed discussion of the infrared spectrum of lithium fluoride isolated in various mixed matrices is given. In addition, matrix isolation studies using other alkali halides, notably KCl and RbF, were attempted. The spectra obtained when LiF and HX are deposited together at liquid nitrogen temperature were also studied. Several related studies are briefly summarized.
