Abstract

The report describes the application of numerical methods to shipbuilding, developed in Norway at the Central Institute for Industrial Research. This Autokon system covers the fairing of ships' lines by computer, the production of part programs and nesting drawings, and finally the preparation of tapes for the control of flame-cutting machines in the shipyard.
